Notes and Cautions

Professional reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. Reflexology is a complementary therapy, intended to be practiced alongside conventional western medicine. Your reflexologist may sometimes ask to refer to your medical health professional to confirm that they can proceed with treatment.

Treatment may not be possible if you are showing symptoms of or undergoing the following:

  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or any kind of internal bleeding
  • Diabetes
  • First trimester of pregnancy if there is a history of miscarriage
  • During pregnancy if there is any undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
  • IVF - whilst taking Clomid or other fertility drugs
  • Diseases or conditions of the foot which make treatment too painful or difficult, e.g. major skin problems
  • Certain infectious diseases
  • Recovery from major surgery

If you are unsure, always seek the advice of a medical professional.
